On Saturday I held an online launch party for the release of ‘Heartless’, my third novel.

And wow what a response!!!

Over 230 Facebookers’ took part in the event, and not only did I receive lots of well wishes and messages from readers, I also was privileged to have some fantastic authors get involved too.

Book giveaways throughout the day went down a storm, and it was a fantastic way to introduce readers to authors and vice-versa.

Mel Sherratt, author of bestselling ‘Taunting the dead’ gave away a copy of ‘Somewhere to Hide’ from her popular Estate series. http://goo.gl/O2W9Fk

Zoe Sharp gave away a copy of her brand new exciting thriller ‘The Blood Whisper’.

Emma Clapperton gave away a copy of her novel ‘Beyond Evidence’ to the reader with the best ghost story. There were  a lot to choose from, and Emma selected one reader’s spooky story about the imprint of her mum’s face on a pillow. (Photo below)

Sandra prior gave away a copy of her crime novel ‘Dangerous’.

Dangerous blurb: Bobby Taylor is the epitome of dangerous. He’s a king pin who has amassed enough gang ties in his life to fill the Royal Opera House. But on November 5, 1971, Bobby’s underworld lifestyle finally caught up with him. While those who loved and hated him try to get over the shock of his sudden death, it’s now up to Bobby’s son Mickey to settle old scores and figure out what really happened to his dad.

But in his quest for answers, Mickey gets a little more than he bargained for. He has to deal with a broken mother who suffered endless beatings at Bobby’s hands. He has to tap into all of the secrets that his brothers and sisters have never dared to tell. He has to dig through memories of rape, violence, and drug abuse in order to get to the truth.

Most importantly, he has to wonder if one of his family members finally couldn’t take anymore of Bobby’s abuse. After all, they each had plenty of reasons for wanting him dead.

Will Mickey get the answers he’s looking for?

Will his family ever be able to rise above the horrors that Bobby left behind?

Will Mickey be able to protect the family members he has left?

One thing’s for sure… This will be the most dangerous thing he will ever do…

I also had a fantastic prize to give away from SoapDodgerUk – Who are just about to launch their new product range ‘Butter Love Hands’.

The fragrances include ‘Fantastic Fox’ (based on Author Zoe Sharp), Steel’s Surprise (Author Leigh Russell) and

Kelleher’s Karma – (yours truly.) (Oh and did I mention they all smell divine)

Karen Woods gave a signed copy of one of her books, following a competition asking readers the name of her debut novel that was recently adapted to a theatre production. The answer was Broken Youth.

Offering readers something a little bit different from the usual grit-lit genre, Jason Ellis gave away a signed copy of his Y/A novel Shadows and Voices – A Holly Silverstone Adventure.

Reader Annie Gilley Truan won ‘An Evening with Martina Cole’. Which I am sooo Jealous about!!! Not only does Annie get to meet the ‘Queen of Crime’, but she will also receive a signed copy of Martina’s new novel before it is even released. Hope you have a fantastic evening Annie, and make sure you get some pics!!

And lastly I gave away a signed copy of each of my books. Readers had to go searching on Clipics blog (http://clipics-heart.blogspot.co.uk/search/label/Biography) for the name of the photo that I used in the background for the cover of Heartless.

The winner was Alison Thompson – I hope you Enjoy them Alison xx

And in amongst all of that – I also managed to sneak out for a champagne lunch with my fella. So all in all an excellent day.

A massive thank you to everyone who took part, and to all the authors (and companies) that were so generous with their gifts.

Because of you, Heartless is well and truly off to a fantastic start!
